Taija Mäkinen, Director of the Wihuri Research Institute and Professor of Translational Medicine at the University of Helsinki has been elected as a one of the sixty-nine members of EMBO, the European Molecular Biology Organization. The EMBO community comprises of more than 2100 leading life scientists in Europe and beyond. The EMBO membership is a lifelong honour in recognition of the members’ outstanding scientific achievements.
